This book is a great place to start. i could not figure out what the _heck_ was going on with sharepoint dev.

This book is a good intermediate overview of all the things that a developer might be asked to have an opinion on and I think this is a valuable book for a consultant who needs to have a thorough understanding of the possibilities. The contents of this book will give a new SharePoint developer credibility going into an interview or working on a SharePoint implementation for the first time.

This is isn't helpfull at all. I didn't find that it has anything extra to offer.
